Installing Unreal Engine
If this is your first time using Unreal Engine, welcome! We recommend you start here to go through the steps of setting up an account, installing the engine, making a new project, and navigating around the editor before going further.

Below are the initial steps installing the engine and Impulse plugin
- Download the Epic Games Launcher, then create or login to your Epic Games Account

- Go to the Unreal Engine Page, then the library tab
- click the plus button next to “Engine Version”. A box will appear showing an engine version with a yellow install button below. Use the dropdown arrow next to the number to select a compatible version of Unreal Engine.
- Impulse currently supports any version of 5.6.1 and 5.7.3, but is updated regularly to support the most recent engine version. You can always add or remove installed engine versions

Installing the plugin
Download one of our sample projects for your respective computer and Unreal Engine version
- i.e.- if you are on a mac computer and installed Unreal Engine 5.7, download the “ImpulseSample_mac57” project zip
Once you have successfully opened a project with the Impulse Plugin, you are ready to setup your motion capture, start recording, and follow your Impulse!
